Tell a lapsed account apart from a permissions error
A request that acts on a workspace whose team no longer has an active ClickFunnels subscription (canceled, paused, or locked out after failed payments) now answers 403 Forbidden with "code": "subscription_inactive" next to the usual error message. Reads and writes are both refused until the subscription is reactivated, while team-level endpoints such as GET /api/v2/me and GET /api/v2/teams/:id keep working. The MCP server applies the same rule to its tools.
The code is what lets your integration tell "this customer's account lapsed" apart from a revoked key or a missing permission, so it can pause the sync and tell the customer, rather than retrying a request that cannot succeed until they reactivate.
Agent examples: pause a sync when a customer's account lapses · tell the user their workspace needs reactivation instead of retrying.
